3:12 p.m. – Robert Johnson just had his game tying layup attempt roll off the rim. The ball went out of bounds with 1 second left to Friends.

3:11 p.m. – Jon Williams just scored for Friends Academy to give the Quakers the lead with 15 seconds remaining. Tuckahoe advanced the ball past halfcourt and has called timeout.

3:10 p.m. -Robert Johnson made 1. Wer’e tied with under 30 seconds left.

3:09 p.m. - Robert Johnson is headed to the line with 45.9 seconds left. Tuckahoe is down a point after failing to get a rebound off a Friends missed free throw.

3:07 p.m. – A Robert Johnson layup has given Tuckahoe a 2-point lead with 1:12 left. Friends is about to shoot two free throws though. It appears another game is going to go right down to the wire.

3:02 p.m. – Robert Johnson just had a basket disallowed with 1:51 that would have tied the game. Howver, the senior responded by making both free throws so we are deadlocked at 56. Tuckahoe has the ball back.

3:00 p.m. – A layup by Friends pushed the lead to 54-49 with 2:57 left. But Tuckahoe has responed with back-to-back buckets to make it 54-53 with 2:25 left. Joseph Melendez just made an incredible block that led to a Robert Johsnon basket at the other end.

2:57 p.m. – Tuckahoe is hanging in there, but trails 52-49 with 3:55 left in the game. A travel has given Friends the ball back.

2:50 p.m. – A Shaquille Griffiths putback has put Tuckahoe in front 43-42 with under a minute to play in the third.

2:47 p.m. – An acrobatic, hanging runner by Robert Johnson has just cut the Friends Academy lead to 42-41 with 1:31 left in the third quarter. Joseph Melendez has really come on strong with seven points this quarter.

2:40 p.m. – Friends leads 36-28 with 5:24 left in the third quarter. Friends has already gotten a couple baskets in transition this period. The Tigers need to do a better job of getting back on defense.

2:24 p.m. – Friends has extended to a 29-23 lead at halftime. John Foster has leads Tuckahoe with 8 points and 4 rebounds. Robert Johnson, aside from a breakaway dunk, has yet to get going. The Class C tournament MVP is just 1 for 8 from the field.

2:17 p.m. - Friends has pulled in front 22-19. Al Visconti just gave Tuckahoe an earful at the last time out. Thanks to there being a much smaller crowd than for the North Salem game, you could hear him pretty well. It sounded like he isn’t happy with the Tigers’ effort.

2:10 p.m. – After one quarter, Tuckahoe leads Section 8’s Friends Academy 14-12. Robert Johnson just had a steal and a dunk near the end of the quarter. The Tigers seem to have a definite size advantage, but Friends looks like it can really shoot the ball. Should be a close one.

2:04 p.m. – With 3:45 left in the first quarter, Tuckahoe leads Friends Academy 8-6. Sorry for the delay in posting. I was busy interviewing North Salem following their heartbreaking lost to Malverne. Be back soon.
