Rockland basketball guru Jeff Gold and I sat down and recorded a podcast on next week’s games at the County Center.
It’s pretty lengthy, but we go through every game starting from Class C and working our way up. We dedicate about five minutes to each conference.
Hope you enjoy.

Ok this is starting to get ridiculous. You Briarcliff fans need to stop saying Albertus fans are stuck up when you’ve been on here all season preaching that you are some sort of basketball dynasty. You aren’t. You have never once given another team credit unless they beat you which shows just how ignorant and stuck up you really are. And please can you guys stop slurping Joe Lombardi because it makes me wanna throw up. I really hope that you have kids on the team and thats why you worship them like they are gods or something. Otherwise its kind of pathetic. Have a nice night.
AM played well against P’ville (who didn’t play their game). They have zero chance vs. the Bears from Briarcliff. B’cliff is way too physical and fast for Magnus to handle. And no I am not from Briarcliff.
Also, Magnus fans will not be able to make any noise in the large arena of the County Center. After all, they only bring about 200 people to the game.
briarcliff,,,, i think you have the whole section against you b/c your soooo arrogant. You talk like your Mt. Vernon and have actually accomplished something…....geese you rich boys piss me/everyone off. Save your Joe Lombardi worshiping till after you lose…...then you can comment about how he is the god of the hardwood
Message to Briarcliff players:
Please tell your mommys and daddys to stop coming on here and living their lives through you guys. It’s getting really annoying. We’ve all just about had enough.
Some nice anger on here…I like it.
I always wanted to know why McGuiness felt he needed to get out of Magnus. i never heard that it was because the father/son favoritism was too much to handle. but it makes sense. i have seen both magnus and briarcliff this year. briarcliff wins by double digits…
All this Magnus ranting is basically one thing, their boys team trying to come out from the shadow of their girls team.
All year the Magnus girls have stolen the limelight, the spotlight, and every other light!
AMHS, Falcon Fan, Falcon Alum, and a few other pothetic Magnus supporters try to ignite the blogs over a team that couldnt qualify for the playoffs last year and how when they played, they actually won a playoff game.
The Briarcliff fans are arrogant, but they have actually won “something” and the Bear fans were quiet going into the Lincoln Hall game. They chose to let their team do the talking on the court(good move).
To you poor little Magnus fans, you might want to take a page out of Briarcliffs book…shut-up and put up on the court, because those Falcons feathers are going to be a little hard to swallow!
From what I have seen The Bear Fans have been good not to get drawn in on the blogs. Just let the Magnus fans chatter to themselves.
Speaking of ranting and being pathetic…..
Falcon alum
Yep, there you are! right om cue !
Wait A Second
I heard Iona played very well against Scarsdale yesterday in a scrimmage. It looks like Iona will have St. John’s Prep or St. Edmunds in the Quarters. They also avoid Cardinal Hayes and Bishop Ford until the finals.
A healthy Iona will be hard to beat-
not sure if you read the paper today, butt magnus’s fans were voted best in Class B
Thats cause we are the best fans by a longshot
Magnus Mafia 4 Life
best fans albertus?..sweeeet….but all that matters is the best team!! Briarcliff baby….take that best fan bs and throw it out the window because who cares, it wont help you on the court wednesday! When you guys step on the court at the County Center, you guys will be shaking in your maroon and white getup.
yea ok jc,
but seriously… how are Bcliffs fans?
Dude its basketball, not a fan contest…but its nice you take more pride in your fans then ur bball team
Albertus is a joke. Can we start talking about good teams, like Peekskill. Give us all a break and lose already. Is anybody from Bardonia on the team, or do they recruit like the Kennedy Catholic team?
IonaPower,
Iona did play exceptionally well vs Scarsdale in the scrimmage. They also looked to be back in true form last Wed vs Regis. That game was over by half time…Like most teams ,however, they can not win at this time of year without their top players…The seeding gods have been very good to Iona ..Ford and Hayes are on the opposite side of the bracket…..The semi-final game looks like it may be Mount or Stepinac…...But let’s take it one game at a time..
Wait A Second
It looks like the quarters will be either St. Edmunds or St. Johns Prep- Iona handled both teams relatively easy-If Iona plays the type of defense they have played all year I think they can win it.
It would be great if the Basketball team follows up on the Hockey team taking home the championship this past week.
Big Bad Bear, A magnum is what champagne comes in (not a magnus). Magnus is Latin for Great. Hence Albertus Magnus means “Albert the Great”. That’s ST. Albert the Great to you.
thanks for the history lesson! and ur low ass will be history in 72 hours!
hi… You were picked as the best by the same guy that picked you to lose to Pleasantville.
Dr E, I was waiting for you to come back! I found a great 7 iron on sale on ebay you should check it out
Logic,
If you were smart you would know that Bardonia consists of about three blocks so no none of them are from Bardonia..any kid that has gone to a catholic grammar school in Rockland goes to Albertus because they are the only catholic high school in Rockland so there is no recruiting involved..come on people get with the program here.
taz601995:
thanks, I really didn’t know that…
but in all seriousness, I look forward to a great game from both teams, nothing beats the County Center at playoff time…I am sure there will be plenty of blue and orange in the stands
Maybe some green too.
Dr E:
You are hereby granted temporary immunity, come with your green, and sit with the Bear faithfull…balcony, upper left
